I was born in 1987 in Brisbane and have lived here all my life. I married my high school sweetheart in 2009 and we became parents to a baby girl in 2012. My wife was born in the same hospital as me and we both have all the same signatures on our birth certificates. Our school ID numbers were the same but flipped backwards. Kind of cool hey?
I grew up in a house with a Regimental Sergeant Major, Warrant Officer Class 1 of the Vietnam War and a mother who donated all her time helping the less fortunate. I was taught to give and help others, while at the same time, my father would make sure my room was in perfect order.
Perfection was what I learnt from my father. And love is what I learnt from my mother.
I tell stories, not with words, but with actions. Not with pictures, but with memories. Ones that are printed and kept forever. This is what is important to me, capturing what is real. I don't want fake and cheesy cake cuts and first dances. I want to record the real love of the day. I want you to remember the real lighting, the real emotions, the real moments and not the way you were setup for your fake first kiss.
I won't be checking my watch every 15 minutes at reception waiting for my cue to leave. I won't be telling you how to hold your partner's hand. I won't be doing anything cheesy and posed, but I will be there for when it really happens.
This is what I want for you. To remember. The reality. The love.
I photographed my first wedding on September 1st, 2012. Since then, I've been published and featured in White Magazine, The Knot, Style Me Pretty, Polka Dot Bride, QLD Brides, Simply Peachy, The Wedding Playbook and few other little funky places.
After my second month of photographing weddings, I was contacted by SIGMA Photo Australia. I am now the Australian SIGMA Pro Wedding Photographer.
During my spare time, I've been asked if I would like to offer knowledge to other photographers and contribute tips and advice to DigitalRev by writing articles for their community of over 700,000 subscribers.
