When I first spoke to Rach and Cam. They said to me, “We don’t do well in front of the camera”.
But it doesn’t matter, because I’m not a camera man. I don’t turn up to weddings trying to style things. I don’t care about making things pretty and perfect. I don’t want to make moments for you.
When I think hard about it, I really don’t do anything.
You make the moments.
Love is beautiful, without trying to change it.
I want your day, to be your day.
I remember driving up Mt Mee, watching these dark grey clouds come and go. The rain was gentle, but it gave the day a new feeling.
It was refreshing and calm.
There were no cars.
Just a gentle breeze and the smallest of rain.
As I get out of my car, Rachel is there, waiting, with a hug. She brings me back to her cabin to meet her children, the families and their friends. I see Rachel playing with the children inside, while some are outside swinging off ropes on trees. Everyone is sitting around, enjoying each other’s company, sharing memories and stories. The wedding felt like it was their second priority for the day.
Their family and friends, first.
